Like poetry, literature, painting and sculpture, Cinema is art and culture. Films from the history of cinematography and great directors who chose Salina as anunique and unrepeatable natural set. Today Salina does not have a cinema and the Cine-Auditorium Project wants to give it back to the island, tourists and to the whole community of film lovers. The new Cine-Auditorium is an ambitious but concrete project. A room with about 200 seats, which will rise in the outdoor area of Palazzo Marchetti. A state-of-the-art building where digital technology will enchant the timeless magic of cinematic stories. In order to carry out the cinema- auditorium project and cover the costs of construction ( estimated at 500,000.00 Euro ) it has created a crowd-funding platform based on donations, in order to give the opportunity to friends of Salina, to those passionate about the theatre and to those who become interested, to be able to make their contribution to the project.
Now we also need your generosity!

Palazzo Marchetti was built in the 1920s by Antonino Marchetti, who emigrated to the United States from Salina. In 1993 the Palace was donated to the Association Didime '90, in order to promote educational and cultural activities for the inhabitants of the Salina Island and for the many tourists. Since then, musical events, book presentations, artistic performances, gastronomic festivals, cultural meetings have been promoted by the volunteers of the Didime '90 association.
